Motivated By Positive Change
As a talent consultant and trainer, I draw on nearly 20 years’ experience in the business of communications. With a particular interest in diversity and inclusion, employer branding and wellbeing, I spent close to 15 years at trailblazing creative agency Golin, London. As Executive Director of Talent and Marketing, I led talent programmes and recruitment for the 150-strong award-winning London team. It was incredibly rewarding to help build and market a brand known as a progressive and innovative employer, spearheading ground-breaking initiatives to tackle imbalances of gender, ethnicity and social mobility. The first decade of my career was spent working on and subsequently leading business-to-business communications campaigns for clients such as Orange, Tetra Pak, Oracle & EMC.
My first role after graduation from Loughborough University with a BA Hons in Business and French, was at RS Consulting project managing and delivering research projects, across multiple geographies for brands such as HP and Telefonica.
In recent times I contributed to a Government Equalities Office toolkit for getting 'returner talent' back to work and have been a regular on the speaker circuit covering topics such as; the future of work, graduate recruitment, flexible working and diversity & inclusion. I have also appeared on BBC Breakfast TV (innovative workplace benefits), Five Live Radio (the same), BBC Radio 4’s The Today Programme (unlimited leave) and various trade media (around the Gender Pay Gap and returnships).
I love to learn, meet new people and yes, to network. I live my life according to the adage, 'if you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room.' I spend much of my free time running around with and after my family and our dog and socialising with friends and family. I love to travel and cook. I am an average runner, a slightly better swimmer and in the summer of 2017 to test my limits, I successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, with a global Golin team. Humour and humans are what me tick!
Jane Fordham Consulting is a business founded upon passion and purpose. The motivation and belief grew as I climbed Africa's highest peak in summer 2017 and solidified in November 2017 as for the third time, Golin (and I ) supported the back2businessship returner programme, founded by the dynamic duo; Amanda Fone and Liz Nottingham. Witnessing the impact that this programme has on each individual and observing the energy of the group, had a profound effect on me and so I was driven to find a way to make a similar impact on a daily basis. I work with individuals, policymakers, HR professionals, line managers and business leaders to make more equal, more productive and happier workplaces.
